Thing 1. Got through this task

Hurrah!

I got through task one of this test. it was really not that hard. now the fun part of keeping track of my progress on this blog...

I would like to use blogs for the teen summer reading program this year. i am thinking of having the kick off with teaching the kids how to make a blog, having the kids registering their blog and then posting on their blog the books they read, note the number of pages and give a summary and opinion. I am thinking this can take the place of the reading logs. i would also like to incorporate some ideas from 23 things on a stick for the kids to do. I have a great director that is alway so supportive of these new ideas. Yeah Monica!

Can't wait to move onto the next step...

I love this idea of getting the kids into blogging for the Summer Reading program! We could even start getting the word out about it and drumming up interest during Teen Tech week.

I think that providing the teens with a concrete reason to use a blog (summer reading log, sharing book reviews), just as 23 Things on a Stick does for us (to record our reactions and communicate with each other), is a good way to encourage them to get in there and use it on a regular basis. It encourages more exploration and keeps the things they've newly learned fresh. It could also help those who just can't come up with a good reason to put the time into a blog at first. Once they get more comfortable and see how it can be used, ideas as to other creative ways they can use a blog may start to come.

Super idea! You go, girl!

Welcome to 23 Things on a Stick. I love that even with Thing 1, you've found a practical way to use what you've learned. It's going to be fun to watch you go through the next 22 things and how you decide to use those.

Monica may have showed you already, but in case she didn't you can find the other SELS blogs here.
